Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is the newest addition to the series. It follows Ghost Protocol and is now directed and written by Christopher McQuarrie who recently wrote and directed Jack Reacher. He doesn’t have that much experience but he does a phenomenal job and deserves massive credit for keeping the action going. While simultaneously keeping the dialogue interesting enough to not lose focus.
The stars of this movie are Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner as William Brandt, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell as the returning cast. The new members of the cast are Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust and Sean Harris as Solomon Lane. They do a great job fitting in with the returning members. They freshen up the atmosphere of the movie. An underrated member of the cast is Alec Baldwin as Alan Hunley. Hopefully he returns in the future movies.
The movie revolves around Ethan Hunt trying to track down the syndicate and eventually finding it only to be captured. Hunt meets my favorite character after waking up. Ilsa Faust has many agendas. I won’t spoil them for you but she is an amazing part of the team. I can only hope that she returns unlike the last two ladies from the previous two films.
This movie continues the trend of great action movies from 2015 following Mad Max: Fury Road and Furious 7. I hope that the trend continues.
